Former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Emerged As The First African Director-General of WTO

It is indeed great news for Nigeria and Nigerians at this point, knowing that, the very first African and female to attain a great position in the WTO (WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION) is a Nigerian. This is a huge win for Nigeria as a country in the global rating.
The former Minister of Finance, who served under former president, Goodluck Jonathan, the person of Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, has emerged as the very first African and the first female to attain the position of Director-General of the WTO (World Trade Organization).
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, who is 66 years old, served as the very first Nigerian female finance and later foreign minister. She also has a career experience as a development economist and international finance expert at the World Bank for 25-years, eventually becoming its number two.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is also known to be part of Twitter’s board of directors and also a special envoy for the World Health Organization’s against the fight of COVID-19.
She became the finalist after gaining more points in eliminating, current South Korea’s Trade Minister, the person of Yoo Myung-hee in an intense battle for the tough job position on Monday night.
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala has successfully won against, South Korea’s Trade Minister, Yoo Myung-hee. Yoo Myung-hee who is 53 years of age, is serving as current South Korea’s trade minister, has a long career in the trade, diplomacy, foreign affairs, and law. She has also previously served as South Korea’s Foreign Affairs Minister, among others.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala is indeed a brain when it comes to the economic world. She served well and drove the Nigerian economy in the serving terms of former President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, and yet again she still dominates the world economy with her intelligence.
