Fela and Angélique Kidjo are mates – Shade Ladipo says to Burna Boy fans

Popular media personality Shade Ladipo has explained to fans of Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Burna Boy that he was not cheated at the 62nd edition of the award ceremony this year.

Burna Boy had been nominated for the World Best Music Album for Grammy 2020 for his African Giant album but he lost the award to popular Beninese singer and songwriter, Angélique Kidjo.

The media girl explained that Burna Boy was not cheated from winning the award. She said Kidjo deserved the award and Burna knows that it was an honour to be in the same category as Kidjo.

She noted that if music legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was alive he and Kidjo would be mates in the music industry.

Ladipo said that the person that Burna Boy looks up to, Fela, is alive through Kidjo in the music industry.

The media personality added that Burna is a great artiste but it takes more than one album and two years of faux touring the US to become the standard for world music.
