Walter Becker and Fagen first met in 1987, while Fagen was a high school student. In a coffee shop, they got to know one other. Steely Dan is the moniker they settle on for their new band. In Los Angeles, California, they performed their first-ever show. It was Fagen who had written all of the tunes they were performing. In 1974, they did indeed issue their third LP. It was decided that other band members would be terminated. Their best-selling record, titled ‘Aja,’ was published in 1977.
They were able to record and release another album, titled ‘Gaucho,’ three years later. Following ‘Alive in America’ was ‘Two Against Nature’, which was followed by ‘Everything Must Go’. 1981 was the year when the band called it quits. As a result of his choice to focus only on his solo career, Fagen published his debut album in 1982. This album was a huge success in the United States, selling millions of copies. This album was also able to make it into the Billboard Top 200. Although he only released a handful of albums, each one was a commercial success.
