Was Travis Scott arrested?
Travis Scott was not arrested following the eight fatalities at his concert on November 5th.
However, the rapper has been arrested twice in the past for encouraging fans to push past security and defy security measures at his concerts.
In 2015, he was arrested and charged with “disorderly conduct” after fans stormed the stage at Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago.
His festival performance lasted just five minutes before it was shut down and he was arrested by Chicago police.
Then, in 2017, he was arrested again after inciting fans to rush onto the stage at a show on his tour in Arkansas, injuring a security guard, police officer and several others.
After the events at the Walmart Arkansas Music Pavilion, he was charged with “inciting a riot, disorderly conduct and endangering the welfare of a minor”.
He is facing multiple lawsuits after Astroworld 2021
He was not arrested after Astroworld 2021, but the rapper is being sued over the events.
As reported by the BBC, the lawsuits allege that he “incited the crowd” and that the concert producer Live Nation “failed to provide adequate safety measures”.
Houston-based lawyer Tony Buzbee announced on Monday (November 8th) that his firm was filing a lawsuit over the “gross negligence” of the concert.
He is also reportedly seeking a temporary restraining order that would make it mandatory for Travis and anyone else named in the lawsuit to preserve evidence including texts and emails about the event.
The lawsuits have been filed by Tony on behalf of 35 different plaintiffs, including families of the victims and people who attended the concert.
Drake, who Travis Scott brought on stage to perform one song with him, is also being sued in the lawsuits.
