BREAKING: Kano State Finally Dethrones Emir Sanusi

The Kano state government on Monday, March 9, finally dethroned Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, who has been under much heat throughout the Emirate crisis rocking the state.

Sanusi’s dethronement came after the state’s council executive meeting presided over by the governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.

Confirming the development, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, Kano’s secretary to the state government, said that the monarch’s sack takes effect from Monday.

Usman said that the emir’s action violated the part 3 section A-E of Kano state law and that his removal was a decision reached after a lot of consultation with all relevant stakeholders.

Calling on Kano people to remain calm over the development, the SSG said that a replacement will be made in due time and made known to the public.
