Boxing fans react as Fury becomes new WBC champion after 7 round stoppage of Wilder

Deontay Wilder’s hope of defending his WBC championship for an eleventh-time record hit a massive rock on Saturday, February 22, as he was handed first career defeat by Tyson Fury in a moment that will go down in history.

The Bronze Bomber failed to replicate his dominance which has made his career an enviable one as it was the Gypsy King who proved the magic to become the new WBC heavyweight champion of the world.

Wilder’s corner had to throw in the towel as Fury became the WBC champion and remain undefeated with a perfectly clean sheet in 31 fights.

Wilder and Fury had their first fight in December 2018 and it resulted into a controversial split, with both sides emerging winners in grand style.

The American heavyweight champ had landed a brutal knockout-bound punch on Tyson Fury but the Brit got his moves back to give Wilder some chases inside the ring.

Wilder later went to defend his WBC title against Cuban fighter Luiz Ortiz in December- a fight he unsurprisingly won through a knockout.

As Tyson Fury becomes the new WBC champion, the world has been thrown in shock of a new reign, and gathers top reactions across the world.

A social media user wrote: “Tyson fury stood here as if he’s giving wilder motivation to get back on his feet and come get another beating. Trainer’s moves, me likey.”

Mike Tyson, who had given the Gypsy King the backing to win even reacted:
