Ballon d’Or 2022: Organizers confirm dates for announcing list of nominees, award ceremony

The award ceremony for the 2022 Ballon d’Or will take place on October 17, with the list of nominees being released on August 12.

Since 1956, the annual award, which is presented by France Football and honors the best player of the year, has been a fixture in football history.

Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is the current Ballon d’Or winner for his performances in the 2020-2021 season. However, it is anticipated that a new name will be added to the illustrious list of Ballon d’Or winners.

Messi holds the record for most awards won with seven, while Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo is second with five.
