Throughout his illustrious career, Air Vice Marshal HASSAN BALA ABUBAKAR has held numerous significant appointments. He began as the Admin Officer of the 16 Engineering Wing, 1 Engineering Group at NAF Makurdi. Subsequently, he served as the Officer Commanding Admin Services Flight/Group Public Relations Officer at the 97 Special Operations Group in NAF Port Harcourt. He also took charge as the Officer Commanding the Yellow Squadron at the Air Force Military School in Jos. Furthermore, he served as the Admin Officer of the Primary Flying Training Wing at the 301 FTS NAF Kaduna and later as the SO1 Admin at the same unit.
His career progressed with appointments such as the Officer Commanding ‘B’ Squadron (Do 228) at the 81 Air Maritime Group in NAF Benin. He also acted as the Team Leader of the MILOB Team Site 615 Mahagi (Ituri Brigade) under MONUC. Additionally, he served as the Aviation Planning Officer at MONUC Air Operations in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. Notably, he held the position of Commanding Officer of the Base Services Wing at the 81 Air Maritime Group in the Nigerian Air Force, Benin.
Furthermore, he assumed responsibilities as the Operations Officer at the Operational Conversion Unit of the 88 Military Airlift Group in the Nigerian Air Force, Lagos. He also fulfilled the role of Group Safety Officer at the 88 Military Airlift Group in Ikeja, Lagos. Additionally, he served as the Fleet Operation Officer of the 011 Presidential Air Fleet and subsequently became the Commander of the 011 Presidential Air Fleet.
Moving up the ranks, he held positions such as Chief of Staff at Mobility Command, Director of Policy at HQ NAF, Director of Operations at HQ NAF, and Air Officer Commanding of Logistics Command. Currently, he holds the position of Chief of Standards and Operations at HQ NAF.
