ARE LIQUOR STORES OPEN ON THANKSGIVING DAY, NOVEMBER 24TH, 2022?

Alcohol is a pleasant addition to every Thanksgiving meal (if had moderately, of course) – but, are liquor stores open on this day?

Thanksgiving is celebrated on November 24 in 2022. It is annually observed on the fourth Thursday of the month and the day is meant to be spent with family and friends.

And, many of you might be planning to bring a bottle of wine or champagne with you while visiting your family or friends, but will the liquor store be open?

ARE LIQUOR STORES OPEN ON THANKSGIVING DAY?

The answer to this is yes and no.

The opening and closing of liquor stores on Thanksgiving Day depend on state law. While some regions allow it, others impose a restriction on the selling of alcohol on this holiday.

So, we suggest you finish all your liquor shopping ahead of the holiday – just to be safe.

However, here is the list of states that mostly allow liquor stores to remain open on Thanksgiving:

• Louisiana (Restriction on liquor sale in a few regions)

• Pennsylvania (State-run liquor stores will be closed)
• South Carolina
• Vermont
• Washington
• West Virginia
• Wisconsin
• Wyoming

Despite the sale of liquor being allowed in the regions listed above, not every store may remain open on Thanksgiving 2022. Some may even work reduced hours. Call the nearest store before making a stop.

ABC reports liquor stores aren’t allowed to function before 10 am and after 9 pm on any given day.

DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE

Needless to say, you shouldn’t be driving after consuming alcohol, not just on Thanksgiving Day, but anytime.

However, to make sure people follow this strictly, police will be patrolling the main roads and other places for DUI enforcement.

Staying home or taking a cab ride after having drinks will not only save your life but also not put others at risk.

White Settlement Police Chief, Chris Cook, said in a statement: “We know that there are get-togethers, but you just got to make a good decision. You got to make sure that you designate someone who’s completely sober to get you home or you use a ride app.”

WHAT IS CLOSED ON NOVEMBER 24, 2022?

Banking is among several services that will be closed on Thursday.

JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citigroup, U.S. Bancorp, Goldman Sachs, and other banks across America will remain shut. They will, however, be back open on Friday.

Similar to liquor stores, some grocery stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day 2022 to allow their employees to spend quality time with their families. However, a few such as Acme, Food Lion, United Supermarkets will be open. They might work reduced hours, however.

As US Postal services are also closed on Thursday, there will be no mail delivery on Thanksgiving.
