In a post yesterday, Halima Abubakar recommended women to wash their pads after each use if possible, or to throw them away where no one can see them, however some people thought it was terrible to wash their own blood.

Halima Abubakar’s advise was definitely based on personal experience, as she described how she caught an old acquaintance twice with her used pads and She decided to warn the entire public because she knows so much about being cautious.

According to her, we used wrappers in the past, and the blood is yours, so there’s nothing wrong with washing your own blood, even if some people find it disgusting. You can also use a pit if you have one, but the bottom line is to protect your blood.

We’ve heard stories about ritualists using women’s blood for rituals and other things, and while Halima Abubakar didn’t clarify what her old buddy was doing with her pad, it’s clear that such things can give anyone access to us no matter how well-protected we are.
