Anfisa wiped Jorge’s phone and canceled the flights after threatening him. In the end, they reunited and Anfisa consented to go on a trip to the US. Jorge was unable to obtain an apartment after pleading guilty to marijuana trafficking. They checked into a motel, and Anfisa was less than pleased with their choice (Jorge had been the victim of a break in before living exclusively in hotels and was therefore afraid to settle into one place). Later, they moved into a little apartment in a quiet neighborhood. Jorge did not buy Anfisa an engagement ring or a wedding dress, and Anfisa’s friends and family became suspicious of her motives.
